:) Take your time. Obviously there are other pressing issues as the current homepage works just fine. Also, I have the phpbb3 template keeping me plenty of company sorting out the bugs etc. :)

Learn a mixture of;

HTML, PHP, CSS :- And then experiement by taking an existing forum theme (or website theme) and edit the files, add new sections and customize it.

What has been changed vs the standard Saphic? If it's just a few images you can do that from your control panel now.
