No - well, to be cliche' - no means no... but it can be overridden by permissions in another group. For example, this usergroup may not have permissions for a particular forum however if they're a member of another usergroup that does have permissions then they will be able to see that forum.

Never - means that no matter what, under any circumstances or what other groups the user is a member of - they will not have those permissions. Never is like No, but it cannot be overridden by another group' permissions. Ever.

When you click never can you ever change it back or does it lock the permissions for the one you set to never?

You can change permissions at any time. In most cases you don't want to use "never", although it could be useful in cases where you want to RESTRICT permissions , such as having a usergroup that doesn't allow PM's because those in that group abused it... or maybe you have clan forums and don't want users to be able to view other clan's sections... so you add them to usergroups that restrict privelages to the other clan's. Or male / female forums... etc. There's many ways to use it, however it's usually best to only use "never" for restricted privelages... not general permissions.

"Never" Works if you don't want Guest to be able to post or see diffrent sections. We have it set so that Guest only see the sections that are good for them. That's the only thing we use it for.
