I know it's really close to spying, but I've set up a forum and am looking to ban someone who is sharing a password.
The way I would think that this is possible is by tracking IP addresses, the user who jumps from one city to another quickly would be the one sharing the password.
However, the only IP address I've been able to find is the one that the member registered with.
Is there more IP information available? Is there another way to find a password-sharer?

I am just getting the forum started, there haven't been many posts. How do I check the IP from a post?
Is there any way to detect if someone is using a registered account to lurk?

A good way to check IP's is to click on Who is online when the user is on the board. Then you can compare IP numbers easily.

I know this is listed as resolved, but I have a follow-up.
Is there a cache in place or any way to implement one, so I can keep a log of the IP information?

If you look at a posting made by a member and look at the post details from the MCP then a list of IP addresses that user has posted from will be displayed. It also shows other users who have posted from the same IP (if any).
