I have a .co.cc domain and that has DNS access...could I use that with the forums here? I am new to the domain stuff and I know about the NS1.hostsdomain.com etc. but not so much the IP way. Is it the same except you enter the IP in the first box rather than NS1.hostdomain.com? Or is this not possible?

You don't use Nameservers, as that'll set EVERYTHING (mx records, etc.) over to our server which we don't control and you'd lose control over at that point. Instead, just A records. Now you can use something like EveryDNS (see the thread about Custom TLD's) and point nameservers there, then use EveryDNS to set the A record. You could then properly use your .co.cc domain with our service.

ok thanks...so it would be easier just to use the domain forwarding option then rather than to go into that

Might try experimenting with it later on

I would suggest to use EveryDNS and use the domain itself to it's fullest.

You won't lose your forum here, regardless of DNS settings. Once you get your .cc domain running, it should redirect to ProphpBB once you try going to the address. At that point as us to setup the domain for you using your forum.
