Thats funny since the 1977 release of A New Hope was originally proposed to Warner Bros (i think) and they said this was a child's movie and they wouldn't fund it. Then G. Lucas went to 20th Century and they gave him like.. 10 or 11 million bucks (im sure there was a budget increase to this amount). At the time 20th century was lacking in funds and Industrial Light and Magic was started by George Lucas. The visual effects portion of 20th C. was disbanded. Hence the creation of the ILM! :s_cool So happy.

Also, I believe it A New Hope was released on May 25.. along with Episode 3 (2005). So the first and last movies premiered on the same day.

Dunno. Somehow I managed to turn a few of my high school (and even a college paper) into Star Wars research and development papers. Not sure how, but all of them got A's hah.

There's so much history + cause & effect due to the efforts of George Lucas. Pixar, Dreamworks, etc. Both those companies are subsidiaries/ direct products of ILM. THX (music-sound- etc) is also used in A TON of movies - also a George Lucas product. lol :s_smile

I really do enjoy helping out here, creating tutorials, playing around with BBCode and interacting at some level with most of the members here. Fills in my day. :s_smile

STAR WARS lol

Anyway, Lucas owns a whole network of film companies, like Nexus said THX yet nobody thinks he does anything apart from Star Wars and Indiana Jones, and American Graffiti.

To put this whole topic simply: The methods devised to create the original Star Wars movies shaped and revolutionized the film industry.
